At Artin Dental, our cosmetic dentists accept and welcome new patients at our downtown Toronto dental office, without the need of referral or recommendation. We are located in the PATH, between Exchange Tower and the First Canadian Place.

If you are new to us, our friendly staff at Artin Dental Toronto will guide you through it. Here’s what you need to know about our process.

FIRST VISIT

At Artin Dental office in downtown Toronto we are dedicated to provide you with a pleasant visit and results that you’re proud to show off. Our administrative staff is ready to help you with questions about scheduling, financial policy and insurance, to make that part of the process as simple as possible.

According to RCDSO (Royal College of dental surgeons of Ontario) guidelines, proper examination and necessary medical information should be collected in a systemic manner.

INSURANCE INFORMATION

What Is Dental Insurance & How Does It Work?
Dental Insurance is a contract between your employer and an insurance company. The benefits you will receive are based on the terms of the contract that were negotiated between your employer and the insurance company, not your dental treatment provider.

Covered & Non Covered Services
Unfortunately, your dental insurer will not cover some of the services that you may need or want. Our goal is to help you achieve and maintain optimal dental care, which is not necessarily the goal of your insurance company.

Dental insurance companies can cover up to 100 percent of any dental fee and, in some cases, cover 50 percent or nothing at all. Many insurance plans have a dollar amount limitation each year. Once this limit is reached, your dental insurance company regardless how essential the service may be to your dental health will cover no other services.

As a concerned partner in your dental well-being, we do not want to compromise your care based on restraints placed by an insurance company.

How We Can Help
We will do everything possible to help you understand and make the most of your dental insurance benefits. Our centres will complete and submit dental insurance forms to the company to achieve the maximum reimbursement to which you are entitled and will work diligently to make this happen as quickly as possible.

Please be aware that some dental insurance companies take longer than others do to complete payment. If necessary, our centre will contact the dental insurance company, or we may request your help in this matter.

Pre-Determination Policies
Many insurance companies require authorization for specific procedures in advance. In most cases, we can begin treatment before receiving an authorization however; patients need to understand that in the event the insurance company refuses to pay for treatment, you are responsible for all fees. Naturally, we always provide you with the full fees in advance so that you know the exact cost of treatment.

FINANCIAL INFORMATION

For your convenience we accept Visa, MasterCard and debit cards at our Artin Toronto Dental Office. We deliver the finest care at the most reasonable cost to our patients (following Ontario dental association fee guide), therefore payment is due at the time service is rendered unless other arrangements have been made in advance. If you have questions regarding your account, please contact us at 416-364-4150. Many times, a simple telephone call will clear any misunderstandings.

Dear Patients,

On April 7th, the Government of Ontario declared a provincewide state of emergency-effective at 12:01 a.m. on Thursday, April 8th-in response to an increase in COVID-19 cases and intensive care admissions. Similar to the last state of emergency order, this announcement does not impact any of the dental care services we currently offer on-site at Artin Dental.

Your health and safety continues to be our number one priority. Since the start of the pandemic, we have implemented enhanced measures to ensure a safe environment for our clients and staff members.

ADDITINAL PRECAUTIONS

I hope this letter finds you and your family well. We are all eager to return to work, yet happy to have been blessed with good health during this very difficult time for everyone.

I am happy to inform you that we are now able to once again provide dental care for you. The Ministry of Health has lifted the restrictions placed back in March. Our governing college in conjunction with the Chief Medical Officer of Health and the Provincial Government just released the guidelines that we must meet to ensure the safety of our patients and of our staff. While many things have changed since then, one thing has remained the same: our commitment to your health and safety.

During the past few weeks our doctors were available to advise and assist you, we were answering your calls/texts/emails, and even provided dental emergency treatment within the guidelines set by the Ministry of Health.

I regret that the pandemic has forced us to postpone everything except urgent care. Your oral health is our most important concern, and now we are ready to have you back for your dental care so that we can continue to protect your health.

We have been preparing for our return to practice, and I am certain that you will notice several changes to the way we will operate. Your safety and well being is our top priority, while we will continue to follow the sterilization procedures as before and in accordance to all guidelines set by Public Health, and the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario, we will be taking additional precautions.

They are as follows:

  • Appointments will be spaced out to allow for physical distancing between patients. That might mean less flexibility for scheduling your appointment, but it will also reduce the number of patients in the reception area at any one time.
  • Our team members will now conduct a screening with you before your appointment (via an online form), and this screening will be repeated and recorded once you are in for your appointment, in order to confirm your health status.
  • We have installed air purifiers with HEPA filter and PlasmaWave throughout the office.
  • You will be asked to remain outside the office until called
  • Only patients with an appointment will be allowed entry to our office, including reception area. Family members or friends will be asked to remain outside the office.
  • We ask that you wear a mask upon entering our office.
  • Your temperature might be taken upon entry to monitor your health status.
  • You will be asked to use hand sanitizer upon entry, and advised to touch nothing else. You will be escorted directly into the treatment room (there are many hand sanitizer dispensers around the office for you to use as needed.)
  • All reading material has been removed from our waiting room for sterilization difficulty
  • You will be asked to take all your belongings with you into the operatory, including coats, etc
  • Once seated you will be asked to use an oral rinse in order to avoid any bacterial/virus concentration in your mouth.
  • Once treatment has been completed, the practitioner may reserve your next appointment in the operatory, in order to avoid any lengthy stops at front desk.
  • Appointments will be arranged to encourage social distancing between patients. We may therefore be limited to the times we may offer.
  • We will set time between patients, and stay on time for your appointments in order to avoid the number of patients in the office.
  • We are starting operations with reduced staff, due to social distancing limitations. We ask that you call/text/email us if you need to contact us, and prevent heading to the office first.
